While I’m not an advocate of wearing t-shirts, I think it’s definitely possible to create an elevated look by adding some Sporty Spice vibes.
There’s something about this Adidas tee that I really love and I wanted to incorporate it into an actual look besides just wearing it to the gym. Because the shirt is fairly long, it completely covers a pair of shorts. And because it’s kind of baggy, I wanted to add SOME shape to my body to keep it feminine. Enter my favorite ABS by Allen Schwartz skinny jeans. I added a little front-tuck action to expose my waist a bit so the t-shirt doesn’t look quite so “t-shirty.”
Elongating the legs is always a must and I wanted to incorporate some femininity to this tomboy-esque look. So a pointed-toe shoe was v necessary. Instead of just a basic black pair of booties, I wanted to make it a little more interesting. These are some of my favorite shoes of life, so I had to throw these on. They are by Louise et Cie – she’s the wife of Vince Camuto and her shoe label is ON POINT.
I found this deep emerald velvet clutch at TJMaxx. The gold clasp is actually a gold jaguar. In other words, I bought it immediately. If you don’t know me well enough by now, there is one thing you will learn about me very quickly – I am naturally drawn to a very classic basic or a piece that is TOTALLY unique and elaborate. There is no in-between. But I will note, YOU want to be the one wearing the look and NOT having it wear you. That’s why I incorporated the velvet clutch with very minimal jewelry. While I love both ends of the spectrum, there must be equilibrium.
This clutch works really nicely with the look because of the gold detailing on the shoes. I threw on a simple gold choker from Urban Outfitters and my staple minimal gold bracelets that my mom handed down to me.
Would you guys ever dress up a t-shirt for a going-out look? Let me know in the comments below!
