Since the dawn of Kylie Jenner’s lip fillers, the matte lip has blown up. While I have been a fan of this look for sometime now, I’m starting to move on from it. In my opinion it looks so harsh and unnatural sometimes. Like I’ve said before, there is NOTHING cute about having dry, cracked lips. The mouth is a focal point on the face, so I want my lips to look good at all times. With a matte lip, it takes a lot of maintenance to keep up that perfect looking lip at all times. How annoying is that??
Recently I have been MAJORLY into a super high-gloss lip. There’s something inherently irresistible about a wet-looking lip, right? I think it’s a lot more appealing than a super dry matte lip. I feel like I would be really intimidated to kiss someone with a super harsh matte lip? Anyways, I’m all about juicy lips. Especially for going out – a super sexy dark smoky eye and a clear glossed lip? HOT.
ALSO, remember Lancome Juicy Tubes? Don’t even lie – I know you do. Such a middle school throwback for me. So I was on the hunt for some lip gloss during my lunch break and my immediate thoughts were “DO THEY STILL MAKE JUICY TUBES?”
I ran over to the Lancome counter at Von Maur and sure enough they had a full display of the Juicy Tubes in a holiday set (the set isn’t on Von Maur’s website, but I’ll link the set from Ulta. It’s a few dollars higher at Ulta, but you can at least see what it looks like). It was 4 full-size tubes in the set – a red, an iridescent white/pink, a nude pink, and a hot pink. They all go on very sheer with a pop of the color. BUT the gloss intensity and lasting-power is so good. The set was $25 for all 4… so how could I say no? My middle-school self would be so proud.

I encourage you guys to get out of the matte look, at least for a little while, and throw it back to a super-glossed lip. You guys know I hate looking like “everyone else” and it’s very rare these days to see people with a glossy lip. So. Into. It.
