I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again – I’m not big into following fashion trends just because it’s what everyone is wearing. I’ll try out some trends here and there like this accessory revival or this top that’s been everywhere this summer. But I don’t revolve my style around following trends. In my opinion there’s nothing better than a solid collection of quality basics and classic pieces. Wearing basics does NOT make you basic.
A great thing about basics – they always end up on sale at some point. I haven’t paid full price for a good basic in a long while. I have had the best luck at Loft, Zara, J. Crew, and Banana Republic for the past several years. They more often have items on sale than not on sale, and what’s better than that?
This is a look that I wear all. the. time. While I do love a good pair of skinny jeans, I love the relaxed feel of a boyfriend jean. It never looks like you’re trying too hard – it’s very french woman chic. Plus you can eat 18 slices of pizza and not feel squeezed into your pants. Priorities, am I right? I got this pair on clearance recently at Banana Republic. They still have a bunch of sizes online here so check them out! Definitely going to be a staple piece for my fall wardrobe.
Next we have the classic white tee. Can you ever really have too many white tees? I am constantly on the hunt for the perfect fit. I originally bought this tee in olive and loved it so much I went back and bought it in white. I may or may not be going back again soon to get more colors. When you find a good t-shirt that fits amazing, you cherish that shirt and then proceed to buy it in every color possible. That’s a bit melodramatic for a t-shirt perhaps, but I’m just giving you guys some realness here. They’ve got tons of these online right now for $7.99 here so don’t say I never looked out for you guys.
A black pump is always a yes. They’re my fashion definition of sophistication, like I’m a boss babe that means business, but also I’m sexy AF. It’s fun to play with the relaxed feel of the tee and jeans, and sex it up with the heel.
ANNNNDDD the accessories. The bag is my mom’s vintage Gucci that I use often. Red leather is so chic in my opinion. And the glasses are shockingly NOT real. They were really fun and I wanted to play around with them. It adds a totally different element to the outfit.
