What better way to ring in spring than donning all black? LOL. But really. An all-black ensemble is a go-to “uniform” of mine, especially when it’s time to get #badontheweekend.
I’m very much in a punk-type phase right now with my style. When I’m running around outside of work, you’ll probably catch me wearing my Vans, a vintage ripped-up band tee, and/or some sort of leather item. Since I’ve chopped my hair off, I’ve felt a bit more on the edgy side.
Zara was having a HUGE sale recently and I found this sweatshirt. I mean HOW amazing is it? It was one of those items that I didn’t even need to check the tag on – I had to have it. Good news – it was on sale. I’ve received so many compliments on this piece when I’ve worn it out at night, so don’t think you can’t make sweatshirts chic!
It was also time to add a new leather mini to my collection and what better option than a patent leather, right? Like I’ve said before, a leather mini is an absolute STAPLE in my wardrobe. Just check my Instagram – I’m wearing one in majority of my photos HA! I love pairing a more casual piece, like this sweatshirt, with a super feminine item such as the leather mini. Contrast is key. Since the skirt is SUPER mini, the sweatshirt keeps it from being too obviously sexy.
If you learn one thing about me, you should know that I have an affinity for weird/quirky accessories, i.e. these glasses. Very Hunter S. Thompson inspired. I’ve got everything from giant 80s crystal earrings to a black-studded choker to a vintage gold handcuff bracelet…and that piece will be for another day, another blog post.
And my Vans. Everyone and their mother has the classic low-top black Old Skools. So naturally I had to get something a little different. I preferred the gum soles over the white soles…they have a little more “edge” with the all black and minimal white. Plus you don’t see a lot of girls wearing this specific shoe. I hate blending in with a crowd as you all know, so these are a little more fun.
So the big question – is this kind-of look appropriate for Spring? Speaking as an Atlantan, the weather and temperature is ANYTHING but consistent. On cooler days and nights, this is a go-to outfit of mine. Slather some of this Honey Bronze oil on your legs, aka supermodel legs in a bottle, and you’re good-to-go.
