Having a signature scent brings your style to a whole new level. It gives you that little personalized touch, but makes a major difference in my opinion. It’s very intimate and reminiscent.
I haven’t settled on just one signature scent yet because I’m only 24 and I’ve got ample time. BUT I still like to be consistent with one scent for each season. I legitimately went on a wild goose-chase in April for the perfect spring/summer perfume (shoutout to my co-workers and Hannah, my old roomie – I know you guys can vouch for me on this one). I finally settled on one, but there were several that made the choice nearly impossible.
This is a small selection of some of the perfumes I tried and am LOVING. They’re all completely different from one another and each one is so unique. Also, pretty much any beauty counter or shop like Sephora will hook it up with the free samples so I would check these out pronto.
‘REPLICA’ Beach Walk by Maison Martin Margiela
It’s truly a perfect embodiment of its name. I put it on and felt instantly transported to the coast. All of my co-worker babes were obsessed. And talk about a chic dressing table bottle?! #aesthetic.
Notes (provided by Sephora): Bergamot, Pink Pepper, Lemon, Ylang Ylang, Coconut Milk, Heliotrope, Musk, Cedarwood, Benzoin
Cost: Rollerball $25.00; 3.4oz $110.00 (click the image for more details)
Mediterranean Honeysuckle by Aerin
When I saw this at the Aerin counter at Nordstrom, I was captivated by the bottle, and the scent itself is just as amazing. Seriously it’s a perfect summer scent that is definitely flying under the radar. There’s a 100% chance I’ll be buying this rollerball in the near future.
Notes (provided by Aerin): sweet honeysuckle, sparkling grapefruit, Italian bergamot, mandarin oil, lily of the valley, gardenia, jasmine sambac absolute
Cost: Rollerball $28.00; 1.7 oz $110.00; 3.4oz $155.00 (click the image for more details)
Orange Sanguine by Atelier Cologne
During my lunch break one day, I had a woman at Sephora help me narrow down some choices. When I told her what I was looking for, this was the first perfume she grabbed. When I first put it on, it was very citrusy. But after about five minutes it really grew on me. There was a warmth that developed with time that was really unique. I have a feeling I’m going to be picking up this rollerball sometime soon too…
Notes (provided by Sephora): Blood Orange, Bitter Orange, Jasmine, Geranium, Amber Woods, Tonka Beans, Sandalwood
Cost: Rollerball $25.00; 1.0 oz $70.00; 3.3 oz $120.00 (click image for more details)
Soleil Blanc by Tom Ford
Sex. Literally like sex in a bottle. This scent is how I imagine Candice Swanepoel feels when she’s posing for an insane VS on-location shoot. You know, like during the golden hour on the beach with all the crashing waves blah blah. I think you get the picture. But since it’s Tom Ford, I can’t say I’m shocked he produced this bombshell of a perfume.
Notes (provided by Sephora): Cardamom Oil, Bergamot, Benzoin Extract, Coco de Mer, Pistachio
Cost: 1.7oz $220.00; 3.4oz $300.00 (click the image for more details)
St. Kitts by Tommy Bahama
…and this one was the winner. I bought a bottle for my trip to Mexico this past May. It’s youthful and fruity, but light. Finding a scent to be wearable in the heat was not easy, but currently this is my go-to summer fragrance. Obsessed is an understatement.
Notes (provided by Tommy Bahama): pear, mango, starfruit, frangipani, plumeria, freesia, musk, driftwood, vanilla bean
Cost: 3.4oz $65.00 (click the image for more details)
Leave a comment below on your favorite warm-weather perfumes and/or if you’ve tried any of these! I love knowing what everyone is wearing – it helps in expanding my horizons, you know?
