Just because fall is around the corner doesn’t mean we need to disregard sunscreen all together. Taking care of your skin in the colder months is just as important as in the warmer months. And like I’ve said before, I’m trying to stay wrinkle-free for as long as possible for obvious reasons. We don’t want 65 year-old looking skin at age 30, right?
Over the past couple of years, sunscreen has become essential in my everyday skincare routine. More recently, protecting my hands has been a major focus. And since I use it so often, I’m THE MOST picky with what I use. A lot of sunscreens can look really streaky on the skin, feel gritty, and cause breakouts. I workout early every Sunday morning outside on a football field running stadiums, pushing sleds, doing sprints, etc. I am pouring sweat quite literally – a sexy image, I know. So finding a sunscreen to withstand all that nastiness is CRUCIAL.
There is one brand I tried and I legitimately looked like the Snapchat ghost all day long because it would not soak in for the life of me. It also sweat off during my Sunday workout warm-up. THE WARM-UP. So nixed that one. Within the next month, I plan on doing a “hate-its” post on products that haven’t worked for me, and I am no doubt including that sunscreen.
Then along came Supergoop!. It is seriously super. I started off using their Forever Young Hand Cream that I found in the Sephora checkout line. Because I fell in love, I had to get my hands on some of their other products to test out. I tried out a few, and as expected they are AMAZING.
Let’s break them down in a mini review, shall we?
Something I will ALSO be doing a whole post on soon: body oils. I love a good body oil. They soak in the skin so nicely and provide light-to-medium moisturizing power. I’m specifically crushing hard on the Supergoop! sunscreen oil.
For one, it’s very easy to rub into the skin and there’s no white streakiness to it! It also smells so nice. The meadowfoam seed oil and argan oil provides a light and beautiful scent, and provides great moisturizing power. Bradford and I were out roaming the city of Greenville, SC for hours in the heat and sun this past Saturday and I came home sunburn free #winning.
Also, an oil in the summer makes the skin look super sexy. This formula is not too greasy and makes the skin glow like Gigi Hadid. No joke. If you’re out & about early one evening when the sun is still out, this is a great way to highlight your shoulders or your legs while still protecting your skin! Really it’s a win-win.
You guys can purchase it online here or head over to Nordstrom’s beauty counter. My piece of advice would be to try the 1 oz. bottle for $8.00. A little goes a long way plus it’s perfect to fit in your purse. This is staying in my skincare arsenal for eternity.
If you read my post about Aquaphor, you know that I live and die by the stuff. So it’s safe to say I was a little hesitant about trying the Supergoop! lip balm. I have also tried a number of lip products with SPF and have been extremely unsuccessful finding one I can tolerate. But I figured it was worth a shot.
Andddd we’re obsessed. It is formulated frighteningly similar to Aquaphor. It’s a thicker balm, so it’s not super glossy which I like. It comes in two flavors: acai and mint. Mint is always refreshing so I went with that one. The mint gives off a subtle cooling sensation – who doesn’t love that?
What I am most impressed about is how it feels after it’s worn off. Like Aquaphor, it provides tons of hydration for hours. And there is zero percent flakiness. I wear it under my lipstick during the day and it keeps everything in check. So. Good.
Here’s the link to purchase this one online, or you can head over to Nordstrom’s beauty counter!
Have you guys tried any of these or any other Supergoop! products? Let me know your thoughts/opinions! I’d love to try more from the line!
